So how about an introduction, seems the place to start to share my world with you, my name is Claire and I am the designer of this awesome brand called Roze Collection, my true love encapsulated into the most exquisite clothing I could conjure up for plus size gals.
Roze Collection is the most amazing brand and journey, a culmination of love, hard work and the most incredible passion to let every woman, no matter what their size, skin tone, features or flaws love themselves for the beauties they truly are! We are all the most amazing mosaics of character and experience, good and bad, and need to appreciate our beauty.
My passion for this journey comes from my own struggle of being a plus size gal, I know the struggle of walking into a store and thinking, “It’s pretty, but I will just try this scarf!” this way there is no disappointment of the item not fitting, because I am not a stick insect. Honestly, I have nothing against skinny ladies, every woman is beautiful, but why should I constantly be reminded I don’t fit the mould by the clothing often not passing a size 38/40, it’s like you do the rain dance when you find a 42/44, and even then there are five other curvy gals looking so disappointed that you found the golden size tag.
Even then, you fit it, and I am sorry but just because I have well rounded curves, and a little more waving back at you when I wave, my shoulders are not the size of a provincial rugby player and oh dear, it’s a shirt dress, so when it fits my bust you can’t just drop it straight down from the bust, then it sausages me over the hips, but I try suck in, pull it down and pull it off. I am not even going to start on the pants and the journey I go through in a fitting room from half lying down, feet up on the wall trying to get them over my booty.
Roze Collection aims to avoid these issues, our cut is fitted in the right places and generous in the right places. It brings together something us plus size gals couldn’t fathom in the same sentence of an item that would actually fit us, fashion, style and comfort. I am joined in this endeavour by my business partner Sue, literally the most energetic person you would ever meet, my assistant Mpumi, the hardest worker and of course our beautifully curvy models. The best part about this is, we are all curvy gals, we share the same passion and struggles and so we understand our customer and this already puts us on the same journey with our customer. I promise my blogs won’t all just be Roze, Roze, Roze, although that is all I want to talk about it seems, not to push sales, but mainly to help people find their fit, their comfort and frame their beauty, because when you’re not tugging at your clothing all the time, it’s amazing how much more confident and beautiful you feel.
I intend to do this by giving you tips, advice and also just sharing my journey as a plus size gal, transitioning from a physique centric world to one that has started to accept the body positive movement and the good it has instilled in so many, our shape doesn’t define us, it’s just a part of us.
